Using a Crop Circle metaphor to define the strategic content areas and requisites for each stage of the education, this scheme lays the progression of the necessary skills to be learnt in order to achieve a four-semester goal: From zero, at the beginning of the first semester, to the student acquiring the necessary design, animation, artistic and technical skills to being able to write, create, produce and direct a full motion graphics piece by the end of the fourth.
Due to the lack of formal artistic training for most students, the foundation years are actually quite intense. Students go through a boot camp of graphic design, illustration, research, creative and tech skill sets. Beyond these practical skills and underlying all this, however, the most important component on this level is to create the necessary work ethic and discipline to successfully complete creative projects.
At the end of this process, the high level of quality of the resulting student’s projects projected the best pieces to student selections of prestigious animation festivals such as Annecy and much other international showcases.
